I haven’t made one of these cakes for years. It might sound a bit odd at first, but think Bee Sting Cake (Bienenstich) without the honey and nut topping and you have the idea.

MOCHA MOUSSE
I usually make Chocolate Mousse in one large bowl and then serve it up with berries, but this recipe makes 10 individual desserts. Great for a large dinner party, especially as it can be made the day before.
GERMAN PLUM CAKE
This is makes a great dessert served warm or cold with lashings of cream or ice cream.
BLACK FOREST DELIGHT – No Bake
I’m usually not a fan of cheesecake style desserts that use gelatine as a setting agent, but in this case I think the chocolate and cherries add good strong flavours and should make it taste really good. I also like the idea of using Gaiety biscuits for the base.
RASPBERRY DUMPLINGS
We’ve been eating Mum’s Golden Syrup Dumplings for many, many years and I’ve already posted her recipe for them, but this is the first time I’ve seen a recipe for Raspberry Dumplings. It looks like it would work OK, it’s pretty much the same batter just with a jelly and jam sauce. I can just imagine the lovely pink that the sauce would go mixed with cream or ice cream. I know my pink loving granddaughter would think it wonderful.
BANANA CARAMEL PIE
I was looking for a nice warming winter dessert when I found this recipe. It’s probably best served cold, but it might work warm or at least not straight out of the fridge.
TOPSY-TURVY APRICOT PUDDING
When I first read this recipe I thought it was going to be a fairly standard apricot pudding, then I came to the addition of the cocoa and realized it was actually a Chocolate Upside Down Pudding. I then read on to ‘serve warm with custard or cream’ and decided I could eat a piece there and then – yummy.
ALMOND APRICOT TARTLETS
If you were publishing this recipe today you’d probably rename is Frangipane Apricot Tarts. It’s a classic case of ‘everything old being new again’. Whatever you want to call them you still end up with a some yummy tasting tarts.
ROCKY ROAD TARTS
This recipe is another one from the Pampas Pastry Finger Food Recipe sheets. I’ve just checked to see if Pampas still make sweet tart cases and apparently they do – I just haven’t seen them around lately. If you can’t buy them you could make your own using pastry sheets.
ORANGE CURD TARTLETS
These are change from the more traditional lemon curd tarts. The meringue topping combined with the orange curd makes a great combination.
