I haven’t made this Lemon and Blueberry Tart yet as I’ve only just found the recipe in Mum’s collection. It looks great though and pretty easy to make. Because it uses frozen blueberries you can make it all year round, so I think I’ll try it out for our next family get together.
Here’s another of Mum’s pinned together recipes. If I’d realised that there was a cellotape shortage in her kitchen I would have donated a couple of rolls to her bottom drawer. I guess at least the pins kept the recipes together and saved pieces getting lost. If that had happened we’d never have had this Chocolate Cheese Brownie recipe to enjoy.
This is very much one of Mum’s classic hand written recipes. Written on a page from an old notebook, with spelling errors and extra instructions added. I can see her in her kitchen hunting through the recipe drawer trying to find it and then enjoying making it – lots of memories.
I’ve been making a chocolate swirl cheesecake for the family for many years and Mum has always enjoyed it. I think that’s what prompted her to cut this recipe out of the New Idea. It’s a great way of turning an old favorite into a slice or you can still serve it up as a dessert.
Not the usual cheesecake, this recipe combines cream cheese, feta cheese and parmesan cheese with spinach, mushrooms and onion to make a great savoury dish.
Mum cut this recipe out of the Woman’s Day. It makes a quite versatile cake that you could serve as a dessert with ice cream and cream, but works just as well as a yummy afternoon tea or supper treat.
