I almost didn’t post this recipe because Vitari is no longer made by Nestle. I changed my mind though on googling it and deciding you could use Weis Sorbet instead or at a push a good ice cream. It looks so tasty in the picture I thought it was worth doing.
Personally I’m not mad about tinned strawberries, they always seem to be too mushy, despite that this recipe looks interesting. I think it would work with fresh or frozen strawberries which are a lot firmer. I’d try it with blueberries as well.
This was one of Mum’s recipes that I made many times myself. In the ’70s dinner parties at home were the way everyone entertained. I thought this was a great dessert, it was quick and easy to make, could be made beforehand and tasted great. What more could you want?
