Looking through Mum’s recipes there’s quite a lot that use tinned sweet corn, not something that’s used much these days. This savoury beef casserole topped with creamed corn is a bit unusual, but as it says the corn adds some sweetness to the standard savoury mince so it could be worth trying.
This recipe reminds me of the Sunday night teas that Mum used to make. They were always something quick and easy to make that could be eaten with a fork while watching TV, that new fangled miracle that came into our lives after the 1956 Melbourne Olympic games.
This is a quick and easy Chicken and Sweet Corn soup. I usually use Chicken Noodle Soup when I make the easy version, but I like this idea of using 2 minute noodles instead. The soup looks thicker and chunkier.
This is a low kilojoule recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup. I like that beside the chicken and noodles it also has carrot, leek, creamed corn and two types of onions. More than just a soup, more like a meal in a bowl.
