Mum must have gone to some sort of Sun rice promotion as there is quite a few rice-based recipe sheets in her collection. Not many of them are desserts though. I thought this one might work well – rice, peaches, sultanas, honey and spices with a crumble topping smothered in either cream, custard or icecream definitely has some appeal.
One of the best things about summer is that stone fruit is in season and, as this recipe says, that makes it the right time to make this delicious Italian dessert.
For quite a few years this was one of Mum’s favourite dessert recipes, probably because Dad liked it on his nightly bowl of ice cream. Everytime I looked in their fridge there seemed to be a jar there marinating. I think with the addition of a few other fruits it could still be good today.
