WINTER FRUIT SALAD

This is a microwave dried fruit salad recipe published by Sunbeam Dried Fruits back in the ’90s I think.  Perhaps not quite so useful now that strawberries, blueberries, etc are available all year round, but nice to have to pour over ice cream or serve with cream or yoghurt as suggested.

SAUSAGE PIE

For years Mum made a savoury slice using sausage meat which she’d take on picnics, a recipe that I’ve made lots of times as well.  This sausage pie is a bit different though with the layers of sausage meat, tomato and onion topped with egg.  It’s sort of an adaption of an egg and bacon pie. I haven’t made it, but as it says it would be great hot or cold.

PRINCESS FINGERS

I do find some unusual recipes as I go through all the cuttings.  This one not only has an unusual name it also has an unusual topping.  The base is fairly standard, but the meringue topping with coconut, orange rind and rice bubbles is quite different.  I think it would work…….
