This recipe is one for my Nutella loving granddaughter. I’m sure lashings of Nutella and maybe for her, chocolate chips in place of the hazelnuts, will make it a total winner.

SUPREME RICE PIZZA
The concept of cooking the rice in beer for the base of this pizza is something I’ve never heard of before and I’m not sure I think it’s a good idea, but that could be because I’m not a beer drinker. It would certainly add some flavour, but maybe with all the yummy toppings you don’t need the beer. I think I’d make it cooked in chicken stock, but that’s just me.
CHEWY COCONUT CHOC-CHIP COOKIES
Any biscuit recipe that starts with – combine the melted butter with the sugar in a bowl – makes me think it’s a great one for the kids to make. These with coconut, oats and choc-chips will keep them busy during the school holidays and feed them as well. That makes it a winner, doesn’t it?
VEGETABLE PATTIES
These patties really are full of vegetables – pumpkin, bean shoots, zucchini and onion. Added to which is brown rice and cheese, all in all a hearty vegetarian dish. Not that light a lunch I would have thought.
HOME BAKED HOT CROSS BUNS
Years ago I tried to make hot cross buns and they were really awful. As a result I’ve never been game to try them again. Maybe if I’d found this recipe with it’s helpful hints on using yeast I might have given them another go. I hope you have more success……..
TOMATO AND AVOCADO DIP – Gluten Free
If you’re a little tired of plain avocado dip, maybe giving this tomato version might be a good idea. As it says it makes a good size bowl and if you serve it with vegetables or gf biscuits it can be gluten free as well.
CRISPY ASIAN SALAD
With fried noodles, sunflower seeds and almonds, this is another crunchy salad. When you add in the Chinese cabbage/Wombok and the soy sauce dressing you get a lovely Asian flavour.
CRUNCHY APPLE COLESLAW
By this time of the summer you’ve probably had a lot of bbq and salad meals and are just a bit sick of them. Maybe this crunchy coleslaw with apple, raisins and peanuts will help jazz up the salads at least.
CHRISTMAS – PASTA SALAD WITH HAM AND ASPARAGUS
Pasta salad with some tasty leftover Christmas ham sounds like a great idea to me. Just the thing for a lazy summer day.
Christmas Ham/Turkey and Hot Potato Salad
It’s never any problem in our household to use up the yummy Christmas ham, but leftover turkey can be a bit dry and doesn’t seem to go as quickly. Adding it or ham to this hot potato salad could be a tasty way to enjoy it.
